An array of different retinal disorders is present as a threat in quite a number of dog breeds. These often lead to profound visual impairment or blindness. Many of the disorders are genetic, and they are, in Sweden as well as in other countries, subject to breeding programmes. The anatomy of the eye and the retina, as well as current examination techniques (ophthalmoscopy, electroretinography (ERG) and genetic analysis) are described. The more common retinal disorders encountered in dogs in Sweden are discussed: retinal dysplasia, generalized progressive retinal dystrophy, retinal pigment epithelial dystrophy, collie eye anomaly, sudden acquired retinal degeneration, retinal detachment and choroiditis. The possibly affected breeds are listed. The value of diagnostic findings is discussed and current advances on the subject in ophthalmologic research are accounted for..

Målet med detta projektet var att se hur långt vi kunde ta virtual reality med hjälp av moderna tekniker och ideer. Detta genom att kombinera traditionell virtual reality med en Head Mounted Display samt headtracking, sedan lägga till relativ positionering. Sammantaget skulle det ge en helt ny spelupplevelse med dig som spelare i centrum. Genom att titta på andra projekt ska vi undvika att göra om deras misstag. Sedan var vårat huvudmål att utvärdera människans reaktion på en virituell verklighet..

Är tiden inne för virtual reality i hemmet? - En experimentell studie av virtual reality med 3D och head tracking

Genom åren har intresset för och satsningar på underhållning i tredimensionellt format (3D) gått i vågor. Idag har de flesta biografer stöd för att visa 3D-filmer. Utöver detta intresse har det på senare år även börjat komma mer teknik för 3D i hemmet. Det har också introducerats många nya mer immersiva och intuitiva inmatnings-enheter som bidrar till under-hållning med element av virtual reality hemma. Skillnaden i central och perifer retinal tjocklek mellan olika ametropier - en OCT-studie

Syfte: Syftet med studien var att, med hja?lp av Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), underso?ka om det finns na?gon skillnad i central och perifer retinal tjocklek mellan olika ametropier.Metod: Studien omfattade 36 fo?rso?kspersoner, som grupperades beroende pa? ametropi i en myop, emmetrop och hyperop grupp. Av de 36 fo?rso?kspersonerna var det 15 myoper, 15 emmetroper och 6 hyperoper. En inledande ma?tning gjordes da?r fo?rso?kspersonernas objektiva refraktion uppma?ttes med autorefraktor och da?refter gjordes en avsta?mning i provba?ge fo?r att sa?kersta?lla refraktionen.

Stereotyper i den virtuella världen. Hur visuella intryck påverkar deltagares uppfattningar av virtuella agenter

The purpose of this study is to examine how participants perceive virtual agents shown on a computer display. In particular, it is explored to what extent participants transfer gender and attraction stereotypes that are commonly applied in the physical world to virtual agents. Previous related studies have often explored only text or voice interfaces, without any visually appearing agents, and here indeed found evidence for a transfer of gender stereotypes. Our hypothesis was that the addition of a visual agent interface would reinforce this effect. The results support our hypothesis that participants transfer human gender and attraction stereotypes onto virtual agents, as well as that these processes are affected by the visual representations of the agents..

Vision Enhancement System : Vilken betydelse har displayplaceringen?

At night, the visibility is reduced and the demands on the driver increase. A safety system that enables the driver to discover warmer objects in the surroundings when the visibility are reduced, such as the Vision Enhancement System (VES) contributes to safer night-time driving. Since the benefits of this system are established, it is of interest to investigate different design aspects. The VES display has in earlier studies been positioned in front of the driver but different display positions such as peripheral placement should be evaluated. The present simulator study is an investigation of the effects of different display positions inside the car.

Due to the option of being an anonymous user, the concept of trust plays a big part in how virtual communities are working. It is therefore of interest to investigate how trust develops between users in virtual communities. This report asks the following question:"How is trust formed between users at a virtual community?"A qualitative and netnographical study was conducted to answer the question above.

Virtuella communityn: en fallstudie om independentskivbolags användning av virtuella communityn

The purpose of this thesis was to study the importance of virtual communities for independent record companies. It also aims to examine how these companies use virtual communities in their marketing activities and how to gain competitive advantages by working with virtual communities. A case study based on interviews was conducted with managers from two independent record companies, Music Is My Girlfriend Recordings and B&B Records. Our study has shown that virtual communities are important for independent record companies as tools for finding and addressing the right target market. Useful information about the members of these communities can easily be gathered with the use of the various search options that are available.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to examine virtual reading groups, and which meaning the users perceive that the virtual reading groups offer. In addition, the study inquires which details can be improved to further amend the needs and wants among the users of virtual reading groups. Through these outlines, it is discussed how libraries and librarians can make use of virtual reading groups as a resource. The study is based upon qualitative interviews, consisting of asynchronous e-mail interviews with a total of sixteen members in two different virtual reading groups.

Differences of progressive retinal atrophy in dogs

A group of diseases that affect the dog?s sight is progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) a disease that means that the photoreceptors in the retina of the eye either not develop normally or undergo degeneration and thereby causes vision loss and blindness. The disease affects many different breeds and is inherited. What have been shown is that it is different genes that had become mutated in the different breeds, this conclude that despite similar clinical symptoms, the underlying reason could be different. Also the genes that are mutated in dogs and give rise to diseases also exists in humans.

Private brands on special display

This thesis is concerning private brands on special display. ICA Gott Liv! was used as a study object and a latin square design was employed, using 2 ICA Kvantum stores. Two displays were built in order to compare which created the most awareness and interest, one with the best selling Gott Liv! product and one with four randomly chosen Gott Liv! products. The data was collected using triangulation, questionnaires, sales data and observations were conducted in the two stores. The results indicated that private brands works as well as manufacturer brands on special display and a display with four randomly chosen products creates more interest and higher sales than the display with the best selling product..

VHDL-implementering av drivkrets för en alfanumerisk display

Allting började med att jag fick i uppdrag av Euromaint Industry i Skövde att konstruera en alfanumerisk display i syfte att ersätta en utgången display som inte längre nytillverkas. Jag fick i uppdrag att välja ut en modern, lämplig grafisk display och bygga ett interface mellan den nya displayen och den industriella maskin som displayen skall sitta på. Efter att ha letat hos någraelektronikleverantörer kom jag fram till att en TFT-skärm från det japanska företaget Kyocera var den som passade bäst. Skärmen hade ett VGA-liknandeinterface och min uppgift blev att sätta mig in i hur VGA fungerar. Efter att ha konstaterat att det krävdes en snabbare krets än en microcontroller för att använda VGA, var det endast en programmerbar logikkrets, en FPGA, som gällde.
